After Your Client is Booked

As soon as you’ve booked a client on one of our Custom or Classic safaris, we start the process of providing all the information, guidance, and inspiration they’ll need to prepare for their adventure.

Below, in brief, is an overview of what your travellers, and you, can expect to receive from us.

Once your clients’ Custom safari proposal is accepted, or they’ve been booked to join one of our Classic small-group expeditions, we’ll send all of you a comprehensive email outlining next steps. These include:

* An invoice and credit-card authorisation form for the guest paying for the booking
* Forms for guest registration and travel preferences
* Waivers for on-safari activities like ballooning and helicopter flights
* Trip Mate Insurance enrolment

Your guests will also receive a gift sent directly from us (the first of many!), such as a bag of African coffee and a Micato mug.

Next, you and your clients will receive Micato’s Safari Planning Information Kit, which includes:

* Your guests’ detailed itinerary, including scheduled activities and lodge descriptions
* A complete list of the safari camps and lodges on your guests’ itinerary—necessary for applying for Tanzania’s entry visa and Kenya’s electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA). On both applications, this list is referred to as an Accommodation Confirmation.
* Visa information for every country your guests are visiting with Micato
* A Safari Planning Information booklet with detailed travel information about countries visited
* A reading list of our favourite books about Africa and safari
* A comprehensive packing list
* A map detailing the regions your guests will see
* Information on purchasing traveller’s insurance

Four to six weeks before their departure date, another enticing package will be sent to your guests (and to you, too, if you like), including:

* A beautiful coffee table book, such as The Micato Safaris Guide to Predators
* A handsome Micato duffel bag with a retractable handle for each guest—which meets the strict luggage requirement for internal African flights—and luggage tags
* A Moleskine notebook, and documents wallet for passports, boarding passes, etc.
* A sturdy flashlight for navigating safari tents during the wee hours

Four weeks before your clients’ departure, you’ll receive an email from us with their final safari documents, which you can review and forward to them. These will include:

* A summarized text-only itinerary itemizing all accommodations and activities
* A checklist recapping visa requirements, local regulations, immunization requirements (if any) and other pertinent information
* Emergency contact information for Micato in Africa

Waiting for your clients when they arrive home will be a letter from Dennis Pinto with a brief, optional questionnaire inviting them to share feedback about their Micato experience. Needless to say, we’d love yours, as well!

A few weeks after their return, we’ll send your travellers a parting gift: a beautiful engraved silver picture frame, in which we hope they’ll place a special photo from their safari.
